CLUB UPDATE - May 2007

The last few months has seen a massive amount of news at Esprit, here are just a small selection of the highlights... (more details can be found by clicking on 'News' on the home page)

• Laura Halford, Jade Faulkner and Alicia Veveris all selected for the Great Britain rhythmic gymnastics Squad
• Laura Halford re-selected for the Welsh National squad
• Top 'High Performance' trampoline specialist Sarah Hunt joins the Esprit team to continue the clubs success in ALL gymnastic disciplines
• Esprit chosen by Disney to launch the gymnastics movie 'Stick it' on DVD
• Rhythmic gymnasts win an array of medals at National Duets and Trio's
• Artistic gymnasts continue their winning ways in South West Grades and Compulsory Levels, with 3 gymnasts making the South West team for National grade and Compulsory finals.
• Trampoline Gymnasts win team and individual GOLD at first ever competition
• Esprit's British Champion - Laura Halford wins medals in New York international
• Esprit's Display teams travel to and perform at the Scottish GymFest
• Daisy Rolt helps team to 5th in National Artistic Grades finals and is second highest score in South West team
• Olivia Bloodworth's South West team takes Bronze in National Artistic, Compulsory 4 final
• Erin Milroy breaks a toe and misses out on a trip to the national finals - chin up Erin, we know you'll be back soon!!!
• Jade Faulkner represents Great Britain in Belgium
• Daisy Rolt, Emily Upshall and Courtney Hows travel to Bristol for South West floor and vault and take team Bronze and team Silver respectively as part of the Wiltshire teams competing in the modified and FIG sections.
• Gymnastics for special needs and vulnerable groups start at the academy in conjunction with 'Active Swindon' (see ad below)
• Hannah Wickens (trampoline), Courtney Hows (artistic) and Laura Halford (rhythmic), all selected as finalists for Brunel, most improved sports person award!

NOT A BAD START TO THE YEAR!

Esprit's club competition on the 17 June at the academy - not to be missed, come and see hundreds of Esprit gymnasts strut their stuff!!!
