Club Update - January 2007

Starting as we left off in 2006 Esprit's gymnasts just keep getting better and better. Artistic Gymnast Courtney Hows (12) has made the British Championships at her very first attempt. CJ travelled to the National Challenge Cup in Aldeshot towards the end of 2006 and competed against 50 other gymnasts from across the country to fight for one of only 8 coveted places. Coming 5th overall, only a short way behind the medals, Courtney will now be working towards this years British Championships in Gloucester on 9&10 June - well done CJ!

This news was followed by the fantastic news that Esprit now has no less than FOUR girls in the British Rhythmic Gymnastic Squad. Harriet Evans, Jade Faulkner, Laura Halford and Alicia Veveris all qualified following their medal winning performances at last years British Championships and national Squad testing recently. Again congratulations girls, well deserved selections.

The Christmas display was awesome as usual and both nights were sell outs, with the tiered seating doing its job well. Everyone involved in the whole event should be justifiably proud of a stunning show.

Keep reading the news pages for an update of what the current news is at Esprit and keep visiting this site regularly. Because some of our girls have just been asked to get involved with something that is just TOO COOL for words and will make them the envy of every other teenager and gymnast in the country. We'll tell all very soon so keep visiting
