Esprit’s gymnasts pass exams with flying colours!
Sixteen young Swindon gymnasts have just completed a 6-month long training programme to become fully qualified instructors.
All the girls aged from just 12 up to 15 years old attend top Swindon club, Esprit Gymnastics and all have spent the last few months training under the clubs head coach Katy Trussel, herself an International standard coach and judge.
Katy said, “the girls, have worked exceptionally hard with the clubs youngest gymnasts under my guidance. They have had to keep a regular workbook that showed their development, undertake many hours of mentored training and then take a written and practical examination, before being given their introductory level coaching award”.
The young coaches all proved they had the skills and dedication to become the town’s next generation of top gymnastic teachers and are all set to maintain the high standards Esprit prides itself on. They are now all able to work as coaches in Esprit’s junior classes and be paid for their efforts as well.
Katy continued, “Esprit knows that the only way a sport can truly prosper and improve is to bring new enthusiastic young people on-board, so the club invests heavily in training for its coaches. The girls have all had excellent gymnastic careers themselves, some of them coming just once a week for fun and fitness, whilst others have competed at the very highest level.
She concluded, the one thing they all have in common is a passion for the sport of gymnastics and a desire to see other people enjoy the sport as much as they do. They truly are an inspiration. Every one of them deserved to pass their exam and we expect them now to quickly progress to the next level”.
The girls are: Ellie McQuade, Ellouise Reade, Becky Flint, April Coombs, Daisy Rolt, Holly Lawson, Clarice Saloyadoff, Zoe Benham, Grace Wemyss, Charlotte Van Dort, Erin Milroy, Harriet Beale, Laura Edmondson, Lucy Ingram, Courtney Hows & Carla Williams.
