Esprit’s
Golden Girls have perfect rhythm!
With
the gymnastic competition season now in full flight Swindon
gymnasts from the Esprit Academy in Stratton continue
their medal winning performances at competitions across
the country. The most recent of these was the Novice &
intermediate Rhythmic Gymnastics Open, at Spelthorne in
Middlesex.
From
the very youngest gymnasts in the under 9 category through
to those still competing at 15 and above, all put in very
good performances.
Gabriela
Caruso started with Gold in Free and Silver with her Hoop
routines and was followed by Freya Willcock with Gold
in her Free. Ashleigh West won a Silver for her Free whilst
the youngest groups were finished off by Bethany Reeve
with 2 bronze medals in her Hoop and Free routines.
In
the intermediate under 10’s Alicia Veveris scored
a double Gold in the Free and Hoop sections whilst Clarice
Saloyedoff, Intermediate under 11, won Gold in Rope and
Bronze in Ball, with Gemma Rand, Intermediate under 12,
securing the opposite with Gold in Ball and Bronze in
Rope.
In
the Primary under 12 section, Ellouise Reade won Silver
for her Rope with Casey Arnold-Bygraves securing the Bronze.
Moving on to the over 12 Rope, Becky Flint won Bronze,
whilst Intermediate under 13 saw April Coombes win a 4
medal haul on her own, Silver in Hoop and Clubs, Bronze
in Ribbon and Rope.
Junior
Novice gymnasts Rowan Gregg and Kate Faulkner finished
off the afternoon session with Rowan winning double Gold
for Hoop and Clubs and Kate the Bronze in Hoop. The final
gymnast of the day and double Gold medal winner was Elise
Hale (15) who performed two routines to win Esprit’s
final 2 medals of the day, in Club and Rope.
The
very next weekend Laura Halford and Alicia Veveris travelled
to the National Apparatus Finals in Burton on Trent and
continued their winning ways. Alicia returned with a Gold
in Free and Silver in Hoop and Laura with Bronze in Hoop
and Gold in Rope.
