Esprit
girls blossom at ‘Rose Cup’
Stratton
St Margaret based gymnastics academy, Esprit, made the
trip to Northampton for the inaugural ‘Rose Cup’
recently and the clubs rhythmic gymnasts were desperate
to show they had what it takes to ‘flower’
at this prestigious competition.
As usual the girls all showed how well trained and prepared
they were by returning home with an amazing array of silverware
to show for their efforts. The clubs medal winners were
as follows:
In
the U8 Intermediate Hoop Esprit girls started the day
off superbly with an incredible 1-2-3 with Ashleigh West
GOLD; Gabriella Caruso SILVER & Caitlin Hewlett BRONZE.
At U13 Novice Clubs – Becky Flint took GOLD, which
was then followed by the U10 Intermediate Hoop, where
Hannah Curtis, who was showing off her skills for the
first time as a rhythmic gymnast, took the honours with
an impressive and well deserved GOLD ahead of team mate
Maya Lucas who took the SILVER.
In
U13 Ball and U13 Clubs it was another Esprit 1-2 with
Micia Falaki getting the verdict and two more Gold medals
ahead of fellow Esprit gymnast April Coombes who gained
two Silvers. The under 12 section was dominated by Gemma
Rand who took Rope and Ball GOLD and Clarice Saloyadoff
who followed Gemma in Rope with another well deserved
SILVER.
The over 13 section was again Esprit all the way with
Elise Hale taking both Hoop and Ribbon GOLD’s with
Rowan Gregg taking Bronze in the Hoop section.
It
was another satisfying day for Swindon’s brightest
gymnastic stars, all deserving of their haul of medals
and all proving yet again that gymnastics is a sport that
builds real champions.
