Debra Hows - Senior Club Coach
Head Rhythmic Coach Debra has been involved in Gymnastics
as an artistic gymnast and coach for many years, winning
the coveted status of Wiltshire champion in her early years.
She is now a fully trained Senior Rhythmic coach, Artistic
Club coach and assistant pre-school coach. She has had a
number of her students win regional national and international
medals in recent years. As a part of British Gymnastics
Rhythmic Association, Debra has visited several countries
including Budapest and Germany as well as European Conference's
of the Federation of International Gymnastics. Debra is
seen as being a pro-active coach, committed to the development
of Rhythmic Gymnastics as a sport in the UK.
Katy Smith - Senior Club Coach
Head Artistic Coach Katy, like Debra has been committed
to Gymnastics for most of her life, as a competitor and
coach alike. Her development techniques are outstanding
and she is currently working with some of the most talented
young Gymnasts in the South of England today. As an ex primary
school teacher, Katy understands what motivates young children
and is committed, as are all Esprit coaches, to helping
them all find the champion within. As well as being a registered
British Amateur Gymnastics Senior Club coach (currently
undertaking her High Performance exams), Katy is a national
judge who has worked throughout the UK at major Gymnastics
events, including regional and National Championships.
Gemma Blewden - Club
Coach and school sports coordinator
As an
ex gymnast herself, Gemma understands the self discipline
required to reach the top in gymnastics. Now as a coach
she is one of the most committed of Esprit's staff, working
tirelessly, sometimes 7 days a week, Gemma works with the
elite artistic squads and has helped develop some of the
most talented young gymnasts in the South of England today.
Gemma also works with the towns School Sports Coordinators
developing school to club links and their own after school
clubs.
Elaine Blewden - Club Coach and head of administration
Every
successful business or indeed club has one person they couldn't
function without. At Esprit, it's Elaine. She runs the administration
department and heads up all of our recreational classes.
Elaine knows the name of every single gymnast in the club
and treats every one as if they were the only person who
trains here. She is quite simply the glue that holds the
whole club together and as far as she is concerned every
child really is a champion!
Stuart Smith - Club Coach
Stuart
has been involved in the education of children most of his
life and is still one of the most respected head school
teachers in the region. Stuart is also committed to ensuring
children are introduced to a fit, happy, healthy lifestyle
and as young as possible discover their inbuilt natural
ability to achieve great things.
Cherie Skeats - Choreographer,
Dance instructor & Display Team leader
Since
graduating from the renowned 'Laban Guild' Cherie has worked
extensively with young children and in higher education,
teaching a range of techniques in contemporary dance and
jazz. She has a wealth of experience in composition and
has choreographed numerous pieces for youth dance festivals
and the Laban Guild conferences at Surrey University. Cherie
is renowned for her innovative and unique approach to all
forms of dance choreography.
Jon Hewlett- Club Coach and chief of party's.
Another
one of Esprit's coaches who understands that there are many
levels at which you can succeed! Jon runs a successful corporate
entertainment company, in his other life, and uses his experience
to bring a great twist to Esprit party's. You really need
to book your child's next birthday party at Esprit to find
out just how much fun Jon is.
Claire Percival - Club Coach
One of
the top gymnasts in Wiltshire (in her younger days), Claire
has been helping coach at Esprit from day one. Now, due
to her successful business career, we don't see as much
of her as we would like, but she still helps out whenever
she can and the results of her hard work can be seen in
the talent of Esprit's competition gymnasts.
Elise Hale- Assistant Coach
Elise
started as an artistic gymnast but soon switched to Rhythmic
when she was identified as having a particular flair for
the sport. Elise has competed at the very highest level,
winning many medals at regional and national competitions.
Still competing today Elise has also joined Esprit's coaching
team as an assistant club coach and helps teach her exceptional
apparatus handling skills to our recreational gymnasts.
Elise has a great future as a coach ahead of her and all
of the children she works with can identify with her achievements.
Kirsty Dalrymple - Assistant General Coach, Under
5's Gymnastics coach and fully qualified trampoline coach.
Another
gymnast who just can't leave the sport, it really is that
infectious. Kirsty is the perfect example of what gymnastics
can do for your own child, she really is the perfect role
model. Working as a full time coach in our Under-5's gymnastics
during the day and as a coach in our recreational classes
evening's and weekends, Kirsty has now retired from gymnastics
and is using her exceptional talents to develop the next
generation of top gymnasts.
Martina Veveris - Assistant Coach
Martina
started as a parent who, whilst being supportive of her
own daughter, was also exceptionally interested in the sport
of rhythmic gymnastics. Since these early days Martina has
undertaken various courses and is now, not only one of Esprit's
recreational and rhythmic coaches she is working towards
becoming a fully qualified rhythmic judge as well as already
being an integral part of Esprit's fundraising committee.
Hannah
Wickens - Assistant Coach
Anyone
who has followed artistic gymnastics in the UK will know
the name Hannah Wickens. Before retiring in 2005, Hannah
was one of the top artistic gymnasts in the country, she
then joined Esprit as an assistant coach. Hannah has since
rediscoved her love of gymnastics and has begun using her
skills on the trampoline and not surprisingly, she's very,
very good.
Rowan Gregg- Assistant Coach
Rowan
is still a valued member of both our Rhythmic and Display
Team squads. She still competes regularly to a high level
and is a regular medal winner at competitions throughout
the country. Rowan has just started out on her coaching
career and is already qualified in first aid.
Scarlett Rolt- Assistant Coach
Another
highly successful Ryhthmic & Display Gymnast who has
joined the Esprit coaching team and is already making her
mark in our general gymnastic classes. Another to have passed
her First Aid at the first attempt.
Trampoline
Emily Hewlett - Trampoline Coach
Emily
understands Esprit's philosophy and has been an integral
part of the development of the sport of trampoline at Esprit.
Trampoline is a prime example of how Esprit's unique training
programme benefits the child. By working closely with Esprit's
other incredibly successful gymnastic disciplines Emily
has established trampoline as a big a part of Esprit's success.
Sue
Bloodworth - Trampoline Coach
Sue came
to Esprit as a fully qualified trampoline coach who realises
the importance of good discipline, perfect technique and
close attention to the health & safety of all Esprit
gymnasts. She is as committed as all Esprit's other coaches
to ensuring every one of our trampoline gymnasts achieve
their very own personal goals and become the very best that
they can be.
Sarah
Hunt - Senior Club Coach
Ex Grade
1 competitor, competed in World Age Groups Games in Auckland.
Now living in Frome, Sarah is now the driving force behind
the exceptional 'Evolution Trampoline Club' and has agreed
to help coach Esprit's competition level trampoline gymnasts
on top of everything else she manages to fit in to her busy
schedule. Esprit is very grateful for all her help and expert
direction.
