some esprit success stories...

laura halford

As a six year old, Laura was identified as having the potential to succeed as a rhythmic gymnast.

Since that time, under the guidance of Esprit's head coach Deb Hows, Laura has become one of Britain’s greatest ever rhythmic gymnasts. Winning the British Championships Senior title 4 times (so far), she also won 3 Commonwealth Games medals in Glasgow 2014!

Now at University in Wales, she has relocated her training to the Welsh Institute of Sport in Cardiff and is looking forward to competing in Australia at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

georgie ashford

As a young gymnast, Georgie learnt the key to success was hard work, dedication and practice, practice, practice.

A work ethic she has continued to apply as a graduate of the Arts Educational School, London and now as a well established West End actress.

Georgie has so far appeared in some of the very best Musical Theatre productions, including A Chorus Line, Legally Blonde, Singing in the Rain, Barnum, Showboat and Beautiful, as well as several performances at the Royal Albert Hall in the BBC Proms.

Georgie is living proof, if you start here, you really can go anywhere!

courtney hows

As one of the most successful artistic gymnasts ever trained in Swindon and qualifying for the British Championships, Courtney went on to become an excellent all round sportswoman.

Since graduating from University, she now focuses on her passion for performing. Most recently stunning the crowds in Barnum, with comedian and actor Marcus Brigstocke, where she put her gymnastic skills to great use!

Courtney however retains her love of gymnastics and still teaches the sport, at a club in London, in her spare time.

elise gilbert

Starting as an artistic gymnast, before making the switch to the rhythmic discipline, Elise developed a unique understanding of the body and how it works.

Elise's knowledge is now helping her in her career as a sports therapist and runs her own practice from Esprit's facility here at Headlands.

rebecca jose

Swindon born Rebecca was four times Senior British Rhythmic Gymnastics Champion and has enjoyed a high flying career, travelling the world with the internationally renowned, Cirque du Soleil.

Now a mother herself, she has retired from performing, returned to the UK and begun a new career, working as part of Esprit's successful rhythmic coaching team, under the guidance of head coach Deb.

hannah wickens

A member of the British Women's Artistic Gymnastics Squad, the pinnacle of Hannah's career was to be crowned British Vault Champion.

After several years teaching the elite level artistic gymnasts here at Esprit, Hannah has now moved on to a new career in business and finance, where we are sure she will also excel.
