Our new membership arrangements begin on 1 October 2026.

Esprit Club Membership will cost £20 per child per year.

As well as supporting our new independent insurance arrangements, Esprit members will receive:

• 20% off Esprit party bookings
• 20% off Esprit club events
• 20% off Esprit club merchandise

Your normal monthly class fees are unaffected.

No. You do not need British Gymnastics membership to attend regular classes at Esprit from 1 October 2026.

If you personally wish to maintain membership of British Gymnastics or another recognised gymnastics or professional sporting body, you are of course free to do so.

British Gymnastics states that its membership fees are non-refundable.

Don't worry, though. We won't ask you to pay twice.

If your child already has a current British Gymnastics membership, we will recognise that membership until it expires. Your £20 Esprit Club Membership will then become due when that existing membership ends.

During that period, your child can continue attending Esprit as normal and will be covered under Esprit's new club insurance arrangements.

The principle remains exactly the same: Esprit has insurance arrangements in place to protect the club and its members.

Our new insurance has been specifically arranged around Esprit, the activities we provide and the way our club operates.

We will continue to record and manage accidents and incidents appropriately and, where an insured incident or claim arises, it will be handled through our new insurance arrangements.

Full details of our insurance cover will be available to parents.

Different competitions and events have different entry and membership requirements.

If an event requires additional membership, registration or insurance, we will let you know before you commit to entering and explain any associated costs.

There will be no surprises.

For children attending their regular weekly classes, we will continue providing opportunities such as our Esprit Club Competition and other in-house events.

Children participating in our different disciplines, Performance Teams and Squads will have access to a growing programme of competitions, displays, festivals and other gymnastics opportunities.

Not every opportunity will be right for every child.

That's precisely the point.

We'll select and develop opportunities appropriate to the age, ability, interests and ambitions of the children involved and give parents plenty of notice.

Quite simply, because we believe we can make what we offer better.

Under our previous arrangements, children attending a British Gymnastics registered club were required to hold the appropriate British Gymnastics membership.

Increasingly, families told us they did not want to purchase a separate membership simply for their child to attend their weekly 1hr gymnastics class.

That left us with a choice.

We could continue operating within a system requiring every child to follow the same membership route, or we could create arrangements better suited to the club Esprit is becoming.

We chose the latter.

Our new arrangements give us greater flexibility over insurance, coach development, competitions, events and the organisations we work with.

Most importantly, they allow us to make decisions based upon a very simple question:

What is right for this child?

Absolutely not.

We want children with the ability and ambition to progress as far as they possibly can.

But high-level competition is only one possible gymnastics journey.

We want Esprit to be a place where a future champion, an international performance gymnast, an enthusiastic tumbler, or a child who simply loves coming once a week can all belong to the same club and be valued equally.

There isn't one definition of success at Esprit.

There are as many as there are children.
